Wendy Connolly M.S. CCC-SLP/L
Wendy Connolly is a licensed and certified private speech-language pathologist. She lives in Lake Zurich with her husband Aran, who is a nationally certified school psychologist in Buffalo Grove. They have one son in elementary school, and they are licensed foster parents in the state of Illinois. Wendy has been a speech-language pathologist since 2004, diagnosing and treating children ages 18 months and up, as well as adults. She has a plethora of experience treating clients in settings such as daycare centers and public schools as well as private, parochial and Montessori schools.
Using her years of knowledge and expertise, Wendy is able to easily pinpoint specific strengths and weaknesses for each client's communication skills. She utilizes a variety of different therapy techniques to target each client's individual goals. Using a holistic approach, she goes above and beyond to ensure her therapy is client-centered, fun and effective. This includes monitoring and updating therapy goals as needed, and creating client-specific home practice exercises with incentives to earn prizes. Wendy communicates progress frequently with caregivers and staff, and she is sensitive to the needs of parents who are unable to attend sessions. In fact, her unique approach to therapy includes sending photos and videos of her clients, in order to help promote carryover skills at home. She is willing to modify the time, day or location for treatment, in order to ensure that each client has the most successful experience.
